About Saskia

Saskia was born and raised in Rome, Italy, a capital of European classical music while her American and British parents listened to Black American Music at home, she studied the classical world for many years while knowing New Orleans to be the musical mecca.

In 2019 she made the move and graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in Music Industry and Jazz Voice, under Leah Chase-Kamata.

Out of college she's worked at New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and can be found performing there every Tuesday and Friday at 2pm.

Saskia's versatility in genre is showcased by her diversity in projects, from a Jazz-Latin band in Rome (Balofù), a Psychedelic Rock band from her college days (Sweetheart), and now her band Saskia Says! that incorporates funk, soul and jazz!

Her new project Love and Back Again is a jazz album that tells a story.
